FAQs
What is the curriculum at Partou?
At Partou, the children lead the way. They explore their surroundings and learn about the world they live in, by choosing for themselves which activity they want to join in with next.
Our team are there to care for them and keep them safe. To nurture their emerging abilities and encourage them to seize each fun-packed day. But not to tell them what to do next.
Why? Because when children are allowed to choose their own activities, rather than being told what to do, they naturally choose the activities they’re most interested in. And scientific research has shown that being interested in what they’re doing is the easiest and best way for children to learn.
How will Partou support my child with special educational needs and/or a disability?
Prior to joining Partou, we will ask you to complete a child profile form which aims to discover key information about your child’s individual needs. This helps us to prepare for your child’s first day, where their designated key person will also conduct a check-in conversation with you to find out more about their requirements.
If you reveal that your child has been diagnosed with a special educational need/disability, or express concerns regarding their development in a particular area, then the nursery’s SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) will work closely with you to ensure they receive the additional support they need.
The additional support provided by Partou SENCO’s include the preparation of tailored learning plans, regular progress monitoring and exploration of external support and funding that can benefit your child either in nursery or at home.
How will Partou prepare my child for their transition to school?
At Partou, we believe in giving babies and young children the very best start in life, building strong foundations that support their transition to ‘big school’.
We focus on developing the independence of your children, giving them plenty of opportunities to become agents of their own learning so that they are confident in new situations and become great problem solvers.
Our positive approach to understanding children’s behaviour means that we can support the development of emotional literacy. This not only encourages a sense of self in young ones but also enables an understanding of how their actions make others feel. As such, they progress on their journey with improved confidence and the ability to create great relationships.
In addition to this, our curriculum supports all seven areas of learning to ensure your child has the skills, knowledge, and awareness to meet the developmental milestones needed to succeed in school-life.
How can I keep up to date with my child’s progress at Partou?
Your child will be assigned a key person when they start at Partou and will have a key person in each room that they transition to.
The role of the key person is to understand the needs of your child, collaborate with you on developmental next steps, plan a range of activities to support their learning, and assess your child’s progress.
The key person will have regular conversations as well as meeting with you each term to discuss your child’s development; you will also be kept updated via your child’s online learning journal.
Are Partou nurseries assessed by Ofsted?
All of our nurseries are registered with Ofsted, the government body responsible for inspecting, regulating, and reporting on educational and early years settings to ensure that they meet minimum quality and safety standards.
At Partou, we are extremely proud of our Ofsted performance with the vast majority of our nurseries receiving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ ratings. To find out the rating of your local nursery, please visit their dedicated page.
