Highlights from the Ofsted inspection carried out at Partou Parbold Day Nursery & Pre-School on 13th July 2026:

“The safeguarding standards are met. This means that leaders and/or those responsible for governance and oversight fulfil their specific responsibilities and have established an open culture in which safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and concerns are actively identified, acted upon and managed. As a result, children are made safer and feel safe.”

“Positive and nurturing relationships ensure children consistently follow routines that are rooted in high expectations. Staff are excellent role models, and as a result, children behave extremely well and have a clear sense of belonging.”

“Children have consistently positive attitudes to learning, and with the ongoing support and expectations of staff, they show high levels of perseverance. Leaders and staff skilfully adapt routines to benefit the ages and stages of development for all children.”

“From the earliest stages, children benefit from a focus on personal, social and emotional development reflected in well-established routines, supporting early independence.”

“All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) show clear focus and positive attitudes to learning. They are polite and treat one another with respect and kindness. Children build secure relationships with peers, playing collaboratively.”

“Leaders and staff support children to develop age-appropriate independence skills. For example, children serve their own food at mealtimes. While eating, staff closely supervise and speak to children about healthy foods. Children take part in regular learning opportunities that teach them how to look after their bodies.”

“Staff working with younger children implement safe-sleep procedures. They carefully monitor children to ensure they remain safe. Children have secure relationships and are independent in their sleep routines. For example, children find their bed, lay down and happily settle down to sleep.”

“Individualised consideration is given to settling children. Leaders make every effort to give them a calm and positive early experience. For example, if children become upset, staff offer caring support until they feel more settled. Parents express full confidence in staff’s care, noting they understand their child’s routines, preferences and needs. Leaders and staff ensure that each child, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, feels safe, valued and supported, reinforcing children’s sense of belonging.”

“Staff use assessments of what each child already knows and can do to support learning effectively. They create next steps that are shared with parents, and this ensures that children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make progress.”

“Staff hold the children’s best interests at the heart of all they do, and strive to offer them opportunities to support their individual learning needs. Parents are well informed and well supported by leaders to continue their children’s learning and development.”

“Staff report feeling supported through an open-door culture, regular check-ins and training opportunities. This typically develops staff confidence and competence, ensuring that children receive safe, attentive and knowledgeable care.”

“Leaders are passionate about ensuring that children and families receive high standards of care. Parents value that their children are happy, and this is reflected in the children’s excitement to attend nursery.”

Upon registration, you will be asked to pay a £75 registration fee (non-refundable) or a £75 registration deposit to reserve your child’s nursery place (see terms and conditions for eligibility).

What’s included in our fees? 

Our full fees are clearly broken down into care, meals & snacks and consumables fees for full transparency. 

Care fees include: trained, qualified team members taking care of your child, regular updates about your child and their progress at nursery, a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities tailored to the needs of your child, and use of the nursery building facilities. 

Meals & snacks fees cover the cost of all food and drinks whilst your child is in our care. Meal and snack times are a very important part of Partou nursery life, learn more about how we make food and nutrition enjoyable and educational for children in our care.

Consumables include; important daily care items needed such as nappies, wet wipes and sun cream. 

Discounts

Only one discount can be applied at any time:

• 5% discount for eldest child for siblings.
• 5% discount for Blue Light Card holders.

Partou Parbold Day Nursery & Pre-School is proud to offer funded childcare places 

Funded childcare is a government incentive fulfilled by Local Authorities which aims to provide financial support for eligible families accessing childcare at an OFSTED registered setting. Partou Parbold Day Nursery & Pre-School work with Lancashire Local Authority to apply childcare funding for eligible families.

Funding typically covers 15 or 30 hours per week for the 38 term weeks of the year across a maximum of 10 hours a day which will be applied in different ways depending how many weeks of the year your child is in childcare: 

• Children who are in year-round childcare will receive “stretched” funding. This means that their 15/30 hours over 38 weeks will be stretched over 51 weeks of the year so children accessing year-round childcare at Partou Parbold will receive 11.17/22.35 hours of funded childcare per week. 

• Children who have term-time only childcare places will receive 15/30 hours funding per week over 38 weeks of the year. Term-time only places are limited and are subject to availability.

Government funding for childcare only applies to the care fee (as described above). Meals & snacks and consumables fees are fully chargeable for all sessions including funded.
