Top tips for making the most of your nursery visit
We've compiled a list of popular questions families ask at nursery visits to help you when deciding which nursery to choose for your child's early years education.
Partou Woodlands Halton is a small, close-knit nursery with a long-standing team and a genuine sense of community. Your child will be known by name from the moment they walk through the door, regardless of which room they’re in. For families who want their child to feel truly settled and secure in their early years, that familiarity makes a real difference from day one.
Situated on the grounds of Halton Combined School, we benefit from access to the school’s outdoor play facilities, giving children space to explore, move and discover. Outdoor play is an important part of the early years curriculum and Ofsted inspectors, who visited in September 2025, noted children building physical skills through outdoor play with real confidence and independence.
Learning doesn’t stop at the nursery gate and children benefit from regular trips into the local community: taking the bus into Wendover town centre to visit the library and explore market days, walking to nearby woods and parks, and making trips to the nearby RAF base areas. These outings build children’s understanding of the world around them, give them real experiences to talk and think about, and support their growing independence in a way that structured indoor activities simply can’t replicate.
Our nursery team has been at the heart of Partou Woodlands Halton for many years, and our manager Emily Brown is a testament to what that continuity means. Emily began her career here as a 16-year-old apprentice, completed her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Early Years at Partou Woodlands Halton, and has worked her way up to lead the nursery she has always called home. That consistency shapes the whole culture of the setting and our long-standing team members know every child and every family across every room. That depth of familiarity means your child always has continuity of care and familiar faces. Throughout the year, we hold family events to mark celebrations and seasonal moments, as families are a valued part of our nursery community.
Mealtimes are as carefully considered as the rest of the day. Children enjoy a carefully curated rotating seasonal menu, freshly prepared on site, with team members supporting younger children to develop independence as they self-serve and older children taking on small responsibilities like helping to set the tables. Food here is part of how we build confidence, not just how we fuel the day.
If you’re looking for a nursery in Wendover with a warm, experienced team, rich learning beyond the classroom, and a community feel that children and families genuinely become part of, we’d love to show you why Partou Woodlands Halton is a great fit for your family.

Emily Brown
Nursery Manager
Hello, my name is Emily and I am the Nursery Manager of Woodlands Halton.
I have been working in childcare since 2013. I started at Woodlands as a 16-year-old Apprentice and completed my Level 2 and Level 3 in Early Years here.
As I have worked my way up to Nursery Manager, I have been able to experience many aspects of childcare and have supported various Nurseries within Partou. Although, experiencing other settings has been incredibly exciting, I returned to Woodlands Halton as the Nursery and the team have always felt like home.
I believe working in Childcare is incredibly rewarding and has always been a passion of mine. It is a true pleasure to be such a big part of every child's journey, seeing them thrive and flourish through their early education makes everyday worthwhile.

For us at Partou, childcare isn’t just a job, it’s a journey – one where every child leads us in a unique new direction.
As part of the Netherlands’ largest childcare group, we’ve access to world-leading expertise in learning and development, so you can be confident your child will benefit from an experience as unique as they are.
Of course, care is as much about empathy as education, and ours is a child-led approach that emphasises building confidence and curiosity – so that every child in our care has the freedom to flourish.
