Partou Alexandra Day Nursery and Pre-school in Redditch has been shortlisted for Sustainable Nursery of the Year at the National NMT Nursery Awards 2026.

According to the organisers, the award “will recognise a nursery which shows a strong commitment to environmental sustainability in everyday practice. It celebrates thoughtful use of resources, eco-friendly routines, staff and child involvement in sustainable choices, and a clear effort to reduce environmental impact. The winning nursery will demonstrate how sustainability is embedded into nursery life in a meaningful, age-appropriate way, helping children develop positive attitudes towards caring for the environment.”

A purpose-built setting with its own outdoor play space that stands in the grounds of Alexandra Hospital, Partou Alexandra is ideally located for NHS staff and families in Redditch and surrounding areas.

“We are thrilled to be shortlisted for the Sustainable Nursery of the Year Award.

“Sustainability is part of everyday nursery life at Partou Alexandra.

“It is embedded in the way we source resources, use the environment and work with the local community.

“Rather than automatically buying new resources, the team actively looks for opportunities to reuse, repurpose and source materials sustainably.

“Most importantly, we strive to help the children understand their responsibility for the world around them.”

“Congratulations to the Partou Alexandra team on their achievement.

“Under Holly’s leadership, sustainability has become a centrepiece of the nursery’s culture.

“This approach has been recognised through Plastic Free Nurseries accreditation, with the setting also achieving Level 3 of the RHS Gardening Scheme.

“Its commitment to environmental sustainability was recognised in its most recent inspection, with Ofsted highlighting the nursery’s approach to sustainability.

“I wish them every success.”

The NMT National Nursery Awards will be presented at an evening ceremony at Park Plaza London on 7 November 2026.
