They listen to staff prompts and usually transition smoothly between activities. Newer children settling in receive reassurance and comfort, helping them feel secure and ready to explore.”

“Staff respond promptly to children’s physical needs, carrying out care routines sensitively and in line with agreed practice. Babies benefit from close contact, gentle reassurance and predictable routines that help them feel secure and ready to explore. Older children show increasing independence in personal care, supported by staff who encourage them to try tasks for themselves while remaining nearby for guidance.”

“Healthy eating is promoted, and children enjoy balanced meals and snacks. Staff talk to children about food choices and encourage them to try new tastes.”

“Staff understand the importance of preparing children for their next stage and support early skills such as expressing needs, following routines and practising independence. Children’s learning is shared with parents through observations, learning stories and daily handovers.”

Funded childcare

Partou Hucclecote Day Nursery & Pre-School is proud to offer funded childcare places

Funded childcare is a government incentive fulfilled by Local Authorities which aims to provide financial support for eligible families accessing childcare at an OFSTED registered setting. Partou Hucclecote Day Nursery & Pre-School work with Gloucestershire Local Authority to apply childcare funding for eligible families.

Funding typically covers 15 or 30 hours per week for the 38 term weeks of the year across a maximum of 10 hours a day which will be applied in different ways depending how many weeks of the year your child is in childcare:

  • Children who are in year-round childcare will receive “stretched” funding. This means that their 15/30 hours over 38 weeks will be stretched over 51 weeks of the year so children accessing year round childcare at Partou Hucclecote will receive 11.17/22.35 hours of funded childcare per week.
  • Children who have term-time only childcare places will receive 15/30 hours funding per week over 38 weeks of the year. Term-time only places are subject to availability.

Government funding for childcare only applies to the care fee (as described above). Meals & snacks and consumables fees are fully chargeable for all sessions including funded. These charges are not mandatory or a condition of your child receiving a funded place at a Partou nursery. Should you wish to opt out of these charges, please provide six weeks’ notice in accordance with our terms and conditions.

The sessions on offer at our nurseries vary, so if you would like more information on how to access your full funding entitlement please contact us directly.

Many families are eligible for government funded childcare, see our childcare funding guide for more information.
