Highlights from the Ofsted inspection carried out at Partou Cherubs Day Nursery & Pre-School on 6th January 2026:

“The safeguarding standards are met. This means that leaders and/or those responsible for governance and oversight fulfil their specific responsibilities and have established an open culture in which safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and concerns are actively identified, acted upon and managed. As a result, children are made safer and feel safe.”

“The curriculum is ambitious and supports all children to achieve well and develop positive attitudes to learning. Children make good progress from their starting points, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. All children gain independence skills.”

“Staff interact with children well, narrating their play and extending their learning through effective questioning to help children to make progress. They adapt activities to ensure all children, including those who have barriers to their learning, can take an active part in further learning. Staff plan for children’s next steps with activities that engage and encourage their curiosity.”

“Staff are supportive role models who promote the behavioural expectations of the setting. Leaders and staff have identified this as an area for improvement following the last inspection. They have worked hard to identify gaps in staff knowledge and have provided training and support to all staff to enable more effective transition arrangements and behaviour support to be implemented. As such, children develop positive attitudes to learning and quickly learn the supportive routines that are in place.”

“Leaders and staff support children’s wellbeing. They promote opportunities for all children to develop independence and learn to do things for themselves, including those who face barriers to their learning. The key-person system is well embedded to support children’s individual needs, with a buddy system in place for additional support. Children feel safe with staff and know who to go to for reassurance when needed. Communication between staff and a child’s key person supports effective handovers, including information about their sleep and feeding routines and their learning. Parents are clear about what their children are learning and how they can enhance this at home.”

“Partnership with parents is a key strength, with parents reporting improvements in communication and clarity. Parents are happy with the care and learning their children receive. They feel that leaders and staff provide many opportunities for collaborative working. This enables parents to be fully involved in their child’s learning. Leaders also work closely with external agencies to ensure that necessary referrals are made quickly. All children receive the support they need without delay.”

“Children are at the heart of this setting that provides a home-from-home experience. Children are happy and safe. They receive tailored support from their key person. Activities and experiences are planned to allow children to practise and extend their learning.”

What’s included in our fees? 

Our full fees are clearly broken down into care, meals & snacks and consumables fees for full transparency. 

Care fees include: trained, qualified team members taking care of your child, regular updates about your child and their progress at nursery, a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities tailored to the needs of your child, and use of the nursery building facilities. 

Meals & snacks fees cover the cost of all food and drinks whilst your child is in our care. Meal and snack times are a very important part of Partou nursery life, learn more about how we make food and nutrition enjoyable and educational for children in our care.

Consumables include; important daily care items needed such as nappies, wet wipes and sun cream.

Only one discount can be applied at any time:

• 5% discount for eldest child for siblings.
• 5% discount for Blue Light Card holders.

Partou Cherubs Day Nursery & Pre-School is proud to offer funded childcare places 

Funded childcare is a government incentive fulfilled by Local Authorities which aims to provide financial support for eligible families accessing childcare at an OFSTED registered setting. Partou Cherubs Day Nursery & Pre-School work with Trafford Local Authority to apply childcare funding for eligible families.

Funding typically covers 15 or 30 hours per week for the 38 term weeks of the year across a maximum of 10 hours a day which will be applied in different ways depending how many weeks of the year your child is in childcare: 

• Children who are in year-round childcare will receive “stretched” funding. This means that their 15/30 hours over 38 weeks will be stretched over 51 weeks of the year so children accessing year-round childcare at Partou Cherubs will receive 11.17/22.35 hours of funded childcare per week. 

• Children who have term-time only childcare places will receive 15/30 hours funding per week over 38 weeks of the year. Term-time only places are limited and are subject to availability.

Government funding for childcare only applies to the care fee (as described above). Meals & snacks and consumables fees are fully chargeable for all sessions including funded.
