Why choose Partou Hilltops Day Nursery & Pre-School in Chorley?

Set in a converted Georgian mansion on Heapey Road and surrounded by open fields with views across the Lancashire hills, Partou Hilltops Day Nursery & Pre-School provides high-quality early years childcare and education for families in Chorley and the surrounding areas of Adlington, Brinscall, Heath Charnock, Heapey and Whittle-le-Woods. We have a large car park with drop-off right at the door, making the start and end of the day as easy as possible for busy families. Chorley railway station is also close by for commuting families.

The building itself is full of character, and families often comment on how beautiful and calming the nursery feels from the moment they walk in. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully set up, with our large pre-school rooms giving older children plenty of space to learn, play and develop the confidence and independence they need as they get ready for school. Throughout the nursery, every room is designed to feel warm, homely and inviting, which helps children to settle quickly and feel comfortable in their surroundings. Our learning activities are carefully curated to appeal to children’s interests to ensure they are truly engaged in their early year’s learning experience.

Our outdoor space is very special. Children enjoy access to a picturesque field with views over the surrounding hills, giving them the kind of open-air experience that’s hard to find in a nursery setting. We also have an apple tree which children love exploring as it changes through the seasons, supporting their understanding of the natural world and sparking curiosity about how things grow. Daily outdoor activities are an important part of life at Partou Hilltops, helping children to develop physically, build confidence and enjoy the fresh air whilst having fun with their friends.

We have a well-qualified and nurturing team who are regularly praised by our families for the strong bonds they build with children. We have two members of staff with Qualified Teacher Status, including our Nursery Manager who also holds Early Years Teaching Status. This brings a depth of early years expertise to the leadership of the nursery and to the quality of teaching across the setting as the team truly understand how young children learn and develop. Parents regularly tell us how impressed they are with the knowledge and care our staff bring, and reviews consistently highlight the trust families place in our team.

If you’re looking for a nursery in Chorley with a stunning setting, spacious rooms, qualified and experienced staff and an outdoor environment children love, we’d love to welcome you to Partou Hilltops Day Nursery & Pre-School.

Funded childcare

Partou Hilltops Day Nursery & Pre-School is proud to offer funded childcare places

Funded childcare is a government incentive fulfilled by Local Authorities which aims to provide financial support for eligible families accessing childcare at an OFSTED registered setting. Partou Hilltops Day Nursery & Pre-School work with Lancashire Local Authority to apply childcare funding for eligible families.

Funding typically covers 15 or 30 hours per week for the 38 term weeks of the year across a maximum of 10 hours a day which will be applied in different ways depending how many weeks of the year your child is in childcare:

  • Children who are in year-round childcare will receive “stretched” funding. This means that their 15/30 hours over 38 weeks will be stretched over 51 weeks of the year so children accessing year round childcare at Partou Hilltops will receive 11.17/22.35 hours of funded childcare per week.
  • Children who have term-time only childcare places will receive 15/30 hours funding per week over 38 weeks of the year. Term-time only places are limited and are subject to availability.

Government funding for childcare only applies to the care fee (as described above). Meals & snacks and consumables fees are fully chargeable for all sessions including funded.

Many families are eligible for government funded childcare, see our childcare funding guide for more information.
