Highlights from the Ofsted inspection carried out at Partou Silchester Manor Day Nursery & Pre-School on 10th December 2025:

“The safeguarding standards are met. This means that leaders and/or those responsible for governance and oversight fulfil their specific responsibilities and have established an open culture in which safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and concerns are actively identified, acted upon and managed. As a result, children are made safer and feel safe.”

“Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and those who speak English as an additional language make clear progress in their learning. Children with SEND receive targeted support, which has a positive impact on building their communication and social skills. Overall, children develop the key skills they need in readiness for school. Older children are confident communicators and use a wide range of language as they role play with their peers. Young children develop their coordination skills in the garden as they climb apparatus, navigate obstacle courses and successfully pedal on tricycles. They delight in the warm praise, build their resilience and keep trying.”

“Staff establish warm and caring relationships with children. They provide children with praise and encouragement, which supports their self-confidence. Children visibly relish the company of staff, who act as positive role models as they play alongside them during planned and independent activities. Older children form positive friendships.”

“Staff use the daily routines as opportunities to help children to develop important self-care skills in readiness for school.”

“Leaders provide a sensitive settling-in process that is tailored to meet the individual needs of all children, particularly babies and those children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. Staff gather important information about children’s routines, health and care needs before they start to help them to settle as quickly as possible into their transition to nursery.”

“Leaders have a clear vision for their curriculum. They know what it is they want all children to achieve as they move on to the next stage in their learning throughout the nursery and in readiness for school.”

“Leaders have high expectations for all children. They are proud of their multi-cultural setting and ensure that all children gain a sense of belonging.”

“The nursery has been through a period of transition, and the new management team has clear ambitions for what it wants to achieve. There is a clear focus on benefiting outcomes for all children”

“Children show that they feel safe and secure at the nursery. They arrive happily and quickly settle into their chosen activities. All children form close bonds with the friendly and welcoming staff, who are attentive to their individual needs.”

What’s included in our fees? 

Our full fees are clearly broken down into care, meals & snacks and consumables fees for full transparency. 

Care fees include: trained, qualified team members taking care of your child, regular updates about your child and their progress at nursery, a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities tailored to the needs of your child, and use of the nursery building facilities. 

Meals & snacks fees cover the cost of all food and drinks whilst your child is in our care. Meal and snack times are a very important part of Partou nursery life, learn more about how we make food and nutrition enjoyable and educational for children in our care.

Consumables include; important daily care items needed such as nappies, wet wipes and sun cream.

Only one discount can be applied at any time:

• 5% discount for eldest child for siblings.

Partou Silchester Manor Day Nursery & Pre-School is proud to offer funded childcare places 

Funded childcare is a government incentive fulfilled by Local Authorities which aims to provide financial support for eligible families accessing childcare at an OFSTED registered setting. Partou Silchester Manor Day Nursery & Pre-School work with Buckinghamshire Local Authority to apply childcare funding for eligible families.

Funding typically covers 15 or 30 hours per week for the 38 term weeks of the year across a maximum of 10 hours a day which will be applied in different ways depending how many weeks of the year your child is in childcare: 

• Children who are in year-round childcare will receive “stretched” funding. This means that their 15/30 hours over 38 weeks will be stretched over 51 weeks of the year so children accessing year round childcare at Partou Silchester Manor will receive 11.17/22.35 hours of funded childcare per week. 

• Children who have term-time only childcare places will receive 15/30 hours funding per week over 38 weeks of the year. Term-time only places are limited and are subject to availability.

Government funding for childcare only applies to the care fee (as described above). Meals & snacks and consumables fees are fully chargeable for all sessions including funded.
