Why choose Partou Upton Day Nursery & Pre-School in Prenton?

Located just off Upton Road and minutes from the M53, Partou Upton is an ideal nursery setting for families in and around the Upton, Bidston, and Prenton areas of Birkenhead. We have great public transport links with a bus stop right outside and a train station just over the road and we also have a large car park to make drop-off and pick-ups safe and convenient as you head off on your commute.

The close-knit Nursery Team ensure this nursery feels like a home from home and the team work closely with parents to monitor and encourage children’s development. We are proud to have excellent partnerships with families as we know that this provides an excellent foundation for children’s early years’ learning. We welcome families into the nursery with stay and play sessions and coffee mornings so you can experience nursery life and how happy children are here.

Our nursery benefits from light and spacious rooms which are neutrally decorated to encourage imagination and play. Our team enjoy learning about children’s interests and use this as a basis for early years’ learning by setting up enriching sensory activities to aid cognitive and motor development whilst ensuring that children have fun at the same time. We also hold extra-curricular activities to enrich children’s learning such as sign-language sessions and Popcats Music Time which encourages personal and physical skills development through music and movement.

Our Senior Management team have over 45 years combined early years childcare experience and also each hold a level 3 SENDCO award. This ensures that all children are well supported and encouraged to thrive with confidence and we can support families navigating Special Educational Needs.

We also have two spacious outdoor areas for children to explore. Outdoor play is an important part of the early years’ curriculum and supports children’s personal, social and emotional development as well as providing opportunities for physical skill development.

Outdoor learning extends beyond the nursery, and we are very community minded at Partou Upton. We take regular trips around the local area to give children opportunities to grow their confidence in the world around them. We regularly visit the local library, and children love the baby bounce classes as well as read books together. Children also enjoy visiting the local shops and saying hello to the horses in the local field.

If you are looking for childcare on the Wirral which provides a nurturing home-from-home environment, offers children a variety of early years’ experience and has a well experienced and qualified senior leadership team; we think you’ll love Partou Upton Day Nursery & Pre-School in Prenton.

Funded childcare

Partou Upton Day Nursery & Pre-School is proud to offer funded childcare places

Funded childcare is a government incentive fulfilled by Local Authorities which aims to provide financial support for eligible families accessing childcare at an OFSTED registered setting. Partou Upton Day Nursery & Pre-School work with Wirral Local Authority to apply childcare funding for eligible families.

Funding typically covers 15 or 30 hours per week for the 38 term weeks of the year across a maximum of 10 hours a day which will be applied in different ways depending how many weeks of the year your child is in childcare:

  • Children who are in year-round childcare will receive “stretched” funding. This means that their 15/30 hours over 38 weeks will be stretched over 52 weeks of the year so children accessing year-round childcare at Partou Upton will receive 10.96/21.92 hours of funded childcare per week.
  • Children who have term-time only childcare places will receive 15/30 hours funding per week over 38 weeks of the year. Term-time only places are limited and are subject to availability.

Government funding for childcare only applies to the care fee (as described above). Meals & snacks and consumables fees are fully chargeable for all sessions including funded.

Many families are eligible for government funded childcare, see our childcare funding guide for more information.
