Why choose Partou Children’s House Day Nursery & Pre-School in Binfield?
Partou Children’s House sits in a restored Edwardian mansion set within 2.5 acres of grounds in the village of Binfield, close to Bracknell and Wokingham. The building and grounds are the perfect environment for a great early years experience: space to move, freedom to explore, and built around genuinely supporting children to grow and thrive.
The outdoor space has to be seen to be believed. Spanning 2.5 acres, children can move freely between age-appropriate areas, including dedicated baby decking that connects directly to the babies’ rooms, so the youngest children can explore outside as naturally as they move indoors. A sensory maze winds through the grounds for children to discover safely and at their own pace, building curiosity, confidence and a real love of being outside. Ofsted recognised that children benefit from plenty of fresh air and exercise here, and that comes through in how the outdoor environment has been designed: not as an add-on, but as a core part of how children learn.
Inside, a dedicated sensory room gives children a calm, purposeful space to explore and learn, supporting regulation, concentration, and sensory development. This is particularly meaningful for children with SEND, which is an area of early years education we are incredibly passionate about. Our SEND officer, Sarah, has been part of the nursery team for nearly eight years, and her depth of knowledge shapes how the whole team thinks about inclusion. We have team members who are trained in British Sign Language, so children who need alternative ways to communicate are genuinely supported to thrive.
The quality and warmth nursery team is one of the things families mention most in reviews. Our manager, Kelli, has been with Children’s House for an incredible 15 years. Kelli progressed from lunch cover to room leader across every age group before stepping into her current role. Several other team members have been here for more than a decade, many completing their apprenticeships here and now leading rooms and running the after-school club. That continuity and consistency matters: children build deep, trusting relationships with the people who care for them, and families feel the difference in how well the team knows their child.
Community sits at the heart of life at Partou Children’s House. Over the past year, families have been invited to share their professions, play instruments, read with the children, and bring the richness of their own cultures into the nursery, through traditional clothing, stories and home recipes. This celebrates the diverse background of our families and strengthens relationships between families and our nursery to support children’s growth. Families also get to follow the adventures of Teddy Eddie the Explorer, the nursery’s much-travelled bear who has recently returned from three weeks in America, having been taken along on families’ own holidays.
Children enjoy taking part in local village events including the annual Easter egg hunt and scarecrow trail. This encourages them to feel part of a community beyond the nursery gate. Families love getting involved in these events as they bring everyone together in our small village, and the children love seeing their creations on display at the nursery for everyone to find.
For families looking for wraparound care, Partou Children’s House runs its own breakfast and after-school club. Children are collected from the local primary school each afternoon and spend their after-school hours in a familiar environment with people they already know and trust. During school holidays, the club becomes a holiday club, meaning siblings at different stages can be in the same place, making life genuinely easier for working families.
Parking is never a worry: the nursery has a large, safe car park, which makes those morning and evening handovers that bit calmer and safer for everyone.

Funded Childcare
Partou Children’s House Day Nursery & Pre-School is proud to offer funded childcare places
Funded childcare is a government incentive fulfilled by Local Authorities which aims to provide financial support for eligible families accessing childcare at an OFSTED registered setting. Partou Children’s House Day Nursery & Pre-School work with Bracknell Forest Local Authority to apply childcare funding for eligible families.
Funding typically covers 15 or 30 hours per week for the 38 term weeks of the year across a maximum of 10 hours a day which will be applied in different ways depending how many weeks of the year your child is in childcare:
Children who are in year-round childcare will receive “stretched” funding. This means that their 15/30 hours over 38 weeks will be stretched over 51 weeks of the year so children accessing year round childcare at Partou Children’s House will receive 11.17/22.35 hours of funded childcare per week.
Children who have term-time only childcare places will receive 15/30 hours funding per week over 38 weeks of the year.Term-time only places are limited and are subject to availability.
Government funding for childcare only applies to the care fee (as described above). Meals & snacks and consumables fees are fully chargeable for all sessions including funded.
Many families are eligible for government funded childcare, see our childcare funding guide for more information.
