Chantelle Malon
Nursery Manager

Hi, my name is Chantelle Mallon and I am Nursery Manager at Partou Little Stars.

I have worked in childcare for over eleven years and have graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I chose this career because I am passionate about helping children to reach important milestones in their lives. Witnessing a child take their first steps, say their first words, or learn a new skills provides immense joy and fulfilment.

I also believe in the importance of recognising and understanding children's emotions in order to help them navigate their feelings and develop healthy relationships with others. By being empathetic and supportive, I can provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to express themselves and grow emotionally.

Working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is another reason why I chose childcare. I find it incredibly rewarding to help these children discover their unique strengths and abilities, and to support them in achieving their full potential. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive and succeed, regardless of any challenges they may face.

The emotional well-being of all children is a top priority for me. I am committed to creating a positive and inclusive environment where children feel safe, supported, and valued. By promoting a strong sense of emotional well-being, I can help children build resilience and develop healthy coping strategies for life's challenges.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my 2 daughters and husband creating lasting memories and going on adventures. I am also an avid reader, and will often be found cozied up on my sofa with fantasy novel. I also enjoy spending time at our caravan and exploring the beach.

The Partou experience

At Partou, the children lead the way. They explore their surroundings and learn about the world they live in, by choosing for themselves which activity they want to join in with next.

Our team are there to care for them and keep them safe. To nurture their emerging abilities and encourage them to seize each fun-packed day. But not to tell them what to do next.

Why? Because when children are allowed to choose their own activities, rather than being told what to do, they naturally choose the activities they’re most interested in. And scientific research has shown that being interested in what they’re doing is the easiest and best way for children to learn.

Food & nutrition

Creating healthy eating habits for young children stretches far beyond their time with us. It encourages a lifelong positive relationship with food whilst building healthy bodies and healthy minds. Here’s how we encourage healthy eating habits:

  • Rotating menus: Evidence shows regular exposure to foods helps children to develop their taste for them, yet we still want to offer variety. So, we rotate our menus on a three-to-four-week basis, offering the perfect balance between exposing children to new foods yet allowing them to become familiar with flavours.
  • A lunchtime focus: We prioritise lunch as a time where children can enjoy their food. There is a social aspect to all lunches and, where possible, children are encouraged to take an active interest in the food they eat.
  • Fresh food everyday: We serve children fresh food every day and accommodate many different dietary requirements. We have procedures in place to protect children with food allergies and offer different meal options too. If your child has a dietary requirement, simply let us know as part of our registration process and we’ll make sure we meet the needs of your child.

My baby is in the 'baby one' room I was worried about leaving her but staff and management are so loving and supportive. She is always smiling when I take her in and I love seeing photos and hearing about her day. I'm super happy!

Little Stars is the most amazing nursery. When my son struggled to settle (a little needy) they accommodated more sessions for settling in and were so patient. I can't big this nursery up enough especially the management team.

My daughter goes to the preschool here. She loves it, always comes out with a smile on her face. The girls that work here are all great. Always so informative on how the day went, and what she has eaten. There's a real sense of care for your child individually. Couldn't recommend enough.
